I always plug my Surface Pro 5 into wall outlet and it is 120V AC US format. Everything worked fine in Win8 since my tablet is upgraded to Windows 10 1809 updates. When I login to my desktop, the system’s taskbar will pop up a low battery warning. It is annoying that the message appears from time to time. I am not sure if the power supply is dying, while the CMOS battery is fine. How can I resolve the problem?
A few users have faced the issue about Windows 10 desktop keeps showing “Your battery is running low (9%), you might want to plug in your PC” when they log into the system. That also happens on desktop computers and seems to be bug.
Setup the low level of battery warning on your tablet or laptop
* Type Control Panel into Start menu, and select the matched one from results.
* Go to Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
* Click on “Change Plan Settings” link next to the active power plan, and then the Change Advanced Power Settings.
* Locate the item labeled Battery, Click the plus sign (+) to expand the sun-items.
* Increase and lower the low battery and critical battery level threshold. For example, set the value to about 5% with On battery and Plugged in options.
However, if the battery life goes down to be on 0% – 2%, the battery indicator still saying the low battery warning. It also might be caused by the built-in battery which has gone bad. You could try the method to disable the warning completely.
* Right click on Start button from left-bottom corner, and select Device Manager. You can also type
* Expand the Batteries, right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” item, and select “Disable” option.
* Right click on Start button from left-bottom corner, and select Device Manager. You can also type
devmgmt.msc
into Start menu, and choose the matched one from result.* Expand the Batteries, right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” item, and select “Disable” option.
Hotkey To Disable Battery
Once you have done that, all related options should disappear. Now the warning has been removed in Windows 10.

Note: Before trying out the below solution, you should try to unplug the charger and remove and reinsert the battery and see if it’s working. Sometimes restarting your PC also fixes this problem. This prevents additional charging cycles getting placed on the battery if it discharges just a few percent. Otherwise, battery charging is what the laptop is set to do.
